Caviar20 is excited to be offering this fine and early example of one of Vasa Mihich's iconic "Sphere" sculptures. His spheres are highly sought-after by collectors as they are the most difficult of his sculptures to create.
Resting on a custom clear acrylic stand, the sculpture reveals different colors and densities depending on its position or the viewer's. Thin bands intersect each other, criss-crossing through the form. The colors include grape purple, bright green, tangerine orange, blue and liquorice brown.
Vasa Mihich is a renowned Los Angeles based artist known for his sleek, colorful and captivating acrylic sculptures. He was a Senior Professor of Design at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he taught color theory.
For nearly 50 years he has been working in acrylics, either on canvas or through sculpture.
