Mihich is a Senior Professor of Design at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he has taught color theory for many years.
For nearly 50 years he has been working in acrylics, whether on canvas or through sculpture.
This is one of the most dynamic sculptures by the artist we've ever handled - from almost any position, the colors and density appear completely different.
The sculpture, in essence, is a long equilateral triangle with 5 razor thin triangular slices (in orange, yellow, magenta, forest green and blue) stacked internally.
However depending on your perspective, the slices overlap and interact creating solid color sections eliminating the appearance of transparency.
